Removing an account from Win200Pro

I am trying to remove an account from win 2000 pro. I am logged in as admin, but when I try to remove the account, I get an error saying: The user cannot be removed. How do I get around this?

does it say access denied in the error message? or some other text in the error message, besides "the user can't be removed"

It says the name of the user, which is "sales", but that's it. No other text.

Can you disable the account? That's a lot safer.

Well, if you try to log on using that account, it will tell you that the account has been disabled. How would I re-enable or disable an account?

right click my computer>choose manage>users and groups> right click the user choose properties> check account is disabled.

If this is the only admin account on this OS, i would create another account and add it to the administrators group before disabling the other one.

if you delete the account you wont be able to login either
