Windows XP shutdown is slow
I've looked around the internet for fixes, and none of them work. I'm coming here to see if anyone knows what it could be.
When I click "start" and then "Turn Off Computer" my whole system will freeze for two minutes. Then the window for "Log Off, Restart, Shutdown" pops up. I click shutdown and it again freezes for 2 more minutes when it gets to the blue screen where it says "Windows is shutting down". Then it turns off the computer. I don't have an NVidia card, therefore no drivers. I opened my registry and changed the system clear file to 0, well it already was at 0. One thing I couldn't do though is the fix for GPEDIT.MSC. I open run and type that in and it appears I do not have it. Recently my first hard drive crashed, windows related (Long story, and I think best buy ripped me off...). There seemed to be nothing I could do, so I installed my second hard drive with windows and am using it as my main boot up drive now. This is when it started happening. I did install a dvd burner but that was before the crash. I am using Windows XP home sp2. DxDiag attached. My startup is less than 30 seconds. |
