Cancelling an XP install halfway through...
I recieved a new hardrive and began to format it for my sisters laptop. I have her original xp cd code (from the sticker on the back), so the plan was to use that code and the xp home CD I have.
Unfortunately this didn't work, so I'm stuck at the enter-code part of the install. Instead of battling with tech support I think I'm going to go the linux route and install ubuntu from a CD. Two questions, how can I cancel the install halfway through, and what problems am I going to encounter with the install now that the hardrive is partitioned? |

just turn off the pc and boot the ubuntu cd, delete the current partition and create a new one for ubuntu. if you cant figure that out, boot back to the xp cd. and delete the partions. then exit the xp setup wizard by pressing F3 (i believe) then boot to the ubuntu cd.
