is it possible to remove IE 7 from xp?
has anyone installed IE 7 on their machine and successfully reversed back to IE 6?
without repair install/or fresh re-install? y, you asked? 'cause, WMP 11 was a pain in the a** to remove. Now IE 7...hmmm

You should be able to uninstall it in add/remove programs, and it should automatically revert back to IE6. Check for updates to IE6 after you get done.

I was able to do both easily. It must be your system. My wife loaded IE7 and didn't like it.
IE7 shows as an update in remove programs, be sure to click on 'show updates'. WMP11 Shows as a program, and reverted back to 10 on its own. I uninstalled WMP11 because it didn't support some of the formats I could play with 10. Once I uninstalled, everything was fine.

If you have "system restore" active then removing WMP11 and rolling back to, in my case, WMP9 is a snap.

Didn't know that Statica. Thanks. I also thought when using a restore point you then also had to reinstall the Microsoft security updates. Is that correct?

When you update your system with a security update, a restore point is created BEFORE installation. Which means that if you were to go back to that restore point the update is lost .. which means that you have to reinstall the security update.
