Re - Reformat & Windows XP reinstall

Hello again folks

I'm wanting to reformat and reinstall Win XP Home on my Dell 2400 Dimension.

Could someone please advise how best to do this? I have Dell's reinstallation CD for XP to work with.

I appreciate that this is similar to a previous post, but that one didn't get concluded, so I am still 'in the dark'.

Save off all the important things on your computer to a CD or another removable device.

Then...

Just pop the reinstallation CD into the drive, restart the computer and follow the onscreen instructions

make sure that you backup all your personal and important data from the partition which you will format, you can move the data from that partition to another partition in your HDD or move it to a USB drive if it has a capacity of 512 MB.

Once you format the partition, the data in it will be gone.
