CD Burning with NT

I was given an old NT server, it has a CD reader but when I installed the CD burner it says its not compatible with the OS.
Any idea how I can get it to work?
The machine is a 3 HD scsi with dual 450mhz P2 Processors.

Naturally, I have to ask, what brand and model CD-Burner is it?

I tried several, Sony, Pioneer Lite on. Not sure what the models are but they are all very recently bought.

Thanks for the link. I am gonna have to figure another way to retrieve the data on the hard drives. I wonder if I use a USB PCI card if it would work.

NT doesn't support USB, so don't know if a PCI USB card will work either.

If it's an IDE CD burner, you just have to find burning software that's compatible with NT. I know the old Adaptec/Roxio 4.0 is compatible but it will not recognize newer burners.

Make sure NT has Service Pack 6 - and hang an IDE hard drive in there, format it NTFS, and copy your data to that. Then you can put it into a 2000 or XP machine - on the IDE or in a USB housing - and get your data.

Correct - no USB at all with NT.
