Help
After a crash of unknown cause, blank screen. Computer booted in Safe Mode and stayed on for 30 mins, so I think the PS is ok. I booted from CD and WinXP Pro won't install. It hangs at 51% says it can't install a file called TourW.exe. I have tried several times and it always hangs on this file. I've tried a different CD drive and same result. I tried an old OS disk from another computer and it hangs on a different file. It tried to install on my 2nd HD and same result. Expensive computer built my Monarch. I about to pull my hair out. Can anyone help?

The fact that it is stopping on the same file every time indicates to me that there's something wrong with the disc. Is there a third disc that you can try? You should also download the Ultimate Boot CD and run Memtest86+, because it sounds like you might be having a RAM problem.

Where it hangs on a different file when you use a different disk, I'd suspect the RAM first. Either use Memtest like thefultonhow suggested or, seeing as how you've got 4 Gig of ram in that thing, you could always take them out and try 'em one at a time to see if one screws up while the others work okay.

How did you burn it? You can't just burn the EXE to a CD. You have to expand the EXE and then either mount and copy the ISO, or use a program like Sonic or Roxio to open and burn the ISO.
