Question XP Pro can't get to bios

I am not really sure where to post this but here is my problem Running XP Pro. When I turn on my PC I thought I should see a quick message telling me to press a certain key to access the bios. I never get that so I don't know when or what key to press. Mobo is Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe. I turn the system on and it doesn't display anything until windows starts loading and then I get the screen showing the user login screen. I only have an adminstrator account set up .... enter that and it loads my settings. Any idea how to get to the bios? Have I set something wrong by mistake?

Most Asus mobo's us award bios. Some one must have disabled the post boot screen from the bios or something. Anyway ...... from a cold boot hold the delete key down until you enter the bios. This should do it.

Thanks for the reply but that does not work. I turn the computer off. Power it back up...if I begin holding down the del key as soon as I begin to power it up (before the keyboard display lights up) It will not even go through a posting at all and windows won't come up...If I wait until the keyboard gets a signal then hold down the del key it sill does not go to bios just shows windows and log in screen for admin account. I really need access to the bios. Any more suggestions?

Hi, sorry that didnt work

Do you have the mobo's manual? It will for sure tell you what key needs to be pressed to enter the bios. If not I looked it up at the asus site for you

Try tapping the key constantly, don't stop until you either get in or Windows starts. Why do you want to get into BIOS anyway?

I have tried that but it still did not work. I wanted to try a repair on windows...moot point now...I loaded windows into the cd drive and selected update windows....it started and at some point it told me it was going to restart...it did at that point my video never came back on but there was activity on the HD so I just let it go....during the process it seemed like it was trying to reboot as I would get a single beep every 10 minutes or so. Then of all the luck the power went out...when it came back on I tried to restart the PC and it will give on short beep but nothing every happens...will not come back I removed the battery and clear the cmos still only one beep nothing else. This is starting to p me off. Been a long day. Any ideas where to start to clean this mess up?

This sounds more like a bad VGA circuit on your video card. You don't see anything till the Windows drivers kick in. You are actually getting into the bios, but you can't see anything.

Try pulling the SLI bridge and the video cards - and try it with one video card at a time.
