Ghost

Hi, I was wondering if I had a newer computer that I wanted to be my primary computer that if I take the HD out of an older computer and use ghost to set up my newer computer will it lose any functionalities of the older computer if I use ghost to switch then from 1 HD to a newer, bigger one? Please let me know.

use the clone option in ghost.

i know in acronis, when you clone an old smaller h drive to a newer larger drive, that it will proportion the partition(s) to fit onto the new drive. ie: if you have one partition on the old drive for 40gb and your new hard drive is 200gb total capacity, acronis will ask if you want to have it setup with one partition of 200gb. im not sure if ghost does this, i know you have a few options, disk to disk clone, partition to partition with ghost, at least with the version that i have ghost 2003, but i usually dont use ghost, i tend to use acronis when possible.

You will need to do a Windows repair reinstall after the clone job.
