Irql_driver_not_less_or_equal

every time i run windows media player11 or 10 (this also happened on 10, i think) even on the internet to watch a small clip or play songs, this error message comes up > IRQL_DRIVER_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, along with the blue screen and ...

this also happens frequently when running adobe premier pro, im guessing its because premiere pro uses the drivers to run the clips im editing, now this only happens when i use these programs, and nothing else, i have read the previous posts and threads relating to this matter but still the confusion sets in as to why this happens only with media player 11 and premiere pro, i have updated all my drivers and still no luck, i downloaded from the windows site a fresh copy of media player 11 as well as any other security settings there are that come with it and still no luck, here are my specs>

System: windows xp professional version 2002 Service Pack 2

intel pentium 4 CPU 3.40GHz 3.39GHz, 1,00GB of RAM

graphics: nvidia quadro fx500/fx600

motherboard: ECS - Elitegroup P4M800-M7

please help!!!!! im dying here...

Sometimes that error can signal bad RAM. Is your 1 Gig of RAM all in one stick or is it two or more? If it's only one stick, try downloading Memtest86+ to check your ram. If you have two or more sticks in there, you can either use Memtest86+ on them or you can take the other sticks out and run the system with only one stick of ram installed at a time and see if you still get the error. Check each stick to see if one gives you the error while the other doesn't.

As for your media player the damage may already be done, could need to uninstall and reinstall 11 after you get your memory or other problem sorted. And I'd give a body part to bet that Media player 11 still usues some of the Media Player 10 Components burried into windows. Get VLC media player lol. (Although it's not much good for web based stuff).

0x0000000A: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

Typically due to a bad driver, or faulty or incompatible hardware or software. Technically, this error condition means that a kernel-mode process or driver tried to access a memory location to which it did not have permission, or at a kernel Interrupt ReQuest Level (IRQL) that was too high. (A kernel-mode process can access only other processes that have an IRQL lower than, or equal to, its own.)
