Question Problems with caps lock

Here is the problem that I have. By using a lot of the Ctrl and Alt key on my keyboard, many times the whole system will go into a mode where if I all the words I type will appear all caps and sometimes when I typed in one "n" it will automatically put a double "n". If I do a Ctrl+Caps Lock then any letter that I typed will appear in lower case andd if the caps is off then all letters appear in caps. Not sure if I explain it correctly but I already replaced this keyboard with a brand new keyboard and this problem still exist. I doubt that it is a keyboard problem. I tried the desktop connection from another machine to this machine and the problem still exist. So I don't think it is the keyboardd. It is something in the machine or OS or other third softwae that screwed it up. Any help is much appeciatted.

I've never heard of the CTRL + CAPS combination. What is "soupose" to do?

Normally you either enable the CAPS key so that Everyting types in capital letters or you Disable the CAPS key and type in lower case.

Question

Yes, that is correct. But to get it back to normal, sometimes I had to do a Crtl + Caps or Alt or Shift Caps. Now, when this prolem happens, if I click on the third pargraph, for exampe, paragraph one through 3 are highlighte. Same thing with click icons or files.

Have you tried going to Control Panel > Accessibility options > and turned off (uncheck) all the options - StickyKeys, FilterKeys and ToggleKeys ?

I searched Google and found some articles that seems to suggest about the Accessibility options but I already have it turned off or uncheck. The problem still exist. Not sure why. I don't want to reformat my hard drive.

Time to consider doing a malware scan! What keyboard are you using? Is it detected correctly in your hardware profile? Are you using the latest drivers (if any) for it?

Question

Again, thanks for the response. I tried spybot and adaware and found nothig. I am still thinking that this behavior are coming from the Accessibility Option but I do have it turned off already so I'm not sure where else to check.

Again, what keyboard are you using? Is it using any proprietary drivers or settings?

The keyboard is from HP. There is no driver for this keyboard. It uses one of the generic drivers. There were no problems before and I already replaced a new keyboard.
