Roaming Profiles with POP3 Outlook accounts
I know I'm not the first to ever have this problem so there's got to be a solution.
Im setting up roaming profiles on our 2003 AD domain. The mail accounts are POP3. If I understand correctly, the Local Settings folder does not roam with the user - at least that's what I've been told and seems to work that way too. How can it be manipulated to have the user's Outlook POP3 accounts roam as well? |

move the outlook files to a folder that does get copied up with roaming profiles. check out this article to see if it helps you move the current settings over to a new location.

OK - I think I got it.
I copied the PST files to a network location. The hangup was not the PST files but the user account. The user account had to be set up as an administrator on the PC in order to see the setting files in the folder. When I changed that, the user immediately had access to all the files it needed. This allowed MS Outlook to open - I didn't get the "Microsoft Outlook cannot open" message anymore. Then all I had to do was point to the location of the PST files and WHAM! Problem solved. Thanks for the link OB1 - didn't help me much but I really appreciate your input! J5 |
