Registry error?

Hi folks!

I was wondering if you may be able to help. We have an old PC at work that runs XP and it crashed the other day and said there was a problem with the registry or somthing.

Now certian system items will not work. I am unable to defrag, When I try to open the PPP Dialup connection on the desktop nothing happens.

If you go into network places it is empty. there are no connections shown, no workgroups or networked pcs.

If I try to set up a connection I get to the end point at which point it says.

"Unable to create connection, Insufficent Memory or not enough disk space."

Unfortunatly system restore was not on so I am unable to complete this.

I am also not sure what to look for in the registry.

Have you tried running a disk check first? Try going through the solutions listed here: http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;281625
Also check your system logs for the exact crash code that was generated.
