Weird Time issue
OK, here is a weird one.
Since changing the clocks on my pc and laptop the time as been doing funny things. Now IT keeps going back an hour. So if I set the time to 17:00 when its 5pm after a few minutes It will go back to 16:00. Confused Now the Zone is set to GMT London, I have tried it with both the box for use DST ticked and unticked, but still dose not make any difference. The only way I can get it to work is buy setting it to GMT +1 Lisbon etc.. What could be causing this? The bios has the correct time! |

What OS are you running? If you're running XP .. do u have automatic time synchronisation set on? Do you have any other programs that could be resetting the time?

Are you manually changing the clocks after daylight savings time started? XP will automatically adjust your time for DST.

If you're doing it manually, have you unchecked the box for Automatically adjust for daylight savings?
Try this .. set your computer date to something like July 01, 2006. Set the correct time leaving dst automatic adjustment checked. Go to Internet Time and click Update now. Make sure that you are using GMT (Greenwich Mean Time for Dublin ....) and not GMT for Casablanca and Monrovia for the timezone. |

Sounds like the machines are part of a domain? If so, you wont have an Internet time sync .. and your computer is synching with the domain controller clock .. so check that out first to see if it's right.
If you want to work around it you can issue one the following in a command prompt window: net time /setsntp:Internet_time_server (the default XP internet time server is time.windows.com) or you could use: w32tm /resync |

Yep! was the domain controller clock that was wrong! I totally forgot that I was on a domain network at home! When I got home I remembered and checked this and it was!
Thanks for the help! |
