eMachine have no Win XP disc

Hi,
I'm feeling like an idiot here. I've had this emachine for at least 8 months. I have a bad virus and was just going to save everything and reload windows. I look in the ziplock baggie with all the comp info and lo and behold, the envelope I assumed had a disk in it...ummm..doesn't. It has a piece of cardboard in it. Is it common for a new computer to be sent out without an actual disk
containing the OS? If so, how do I reload windows without a disk?...hmmm..this is beginning to look like a problem. Any advice or input would be appreciated.

There may be a system recovery partition to do the reload from if it didn't ship with a CD. I have no clue how to do it, maybe someone else here would know, or you could ask eMachines support. I can't look up how to do it because you didn't provide the model number.

EDIT: If it's anything like a Gateway laptop, try pressing F11 on startup.
