Running Programs Not Shown on Task Bar?!
Hi,
Unfortunately I am experiencing a rather awkward problem. When I have windows and programs open they do not appear in the task bar. Therefore to switch between programs i have ot enter the (Ctrl + Alt + Del) processing window to see whats open. i have looked on Microsofts page but the explanation there does not solve the problem. Surely i'm not the only onw who has experienced this and their resolution does not aply. Any suggestions will eb greatly welcomed. Here is the information form Microsoft: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q139727/ |

Notice that microsoft article applies to win95/98, is that what your running?? What programs are you concerned with? If your running XP, and they run as processes, then that is normal that they will not show in the taskbar.

Well I couldn't find anything else when i searched so even though it is for 98 it just kind of sums up the symptoms or whatever, and i'm running XP.
I am concerned with the likes of anything I open up any programs like Word, IE, MSN, WMP... they do not appear on the task bar when open. I know that processes do not show up but what i was trying to say is I have to used the ctrl, alt, del to view the list of running applications as there is now way of re-opening them once i have minimized, because they do not appear on the task bar as the normal oblong clickable boxes. |

I'm thinking you may have a virus that is causing that problem.

Shingo give this a shot http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm. Scroll down to item# 240 on the left side. This will run a VBScript that will reset the taskbar properties.
