WinXP install over Win2k - how ?

My office laptop is going to be upgraded to WinXP (together with RAM upgrade as well) from win2000. My IT wanted to wipe the OS partition & do a clean install.

I don't want to - how can I update to winxp without wiping off the OS partition ?

clean install will provide you with a fresh instal without any problems you might have had while running under 2000.

to upgrade to xp, boot into 2000, then put in the xp disc and select the upgrade option.

Thanks ! Upgraded as instructed and only 2 small IBM (Lenovo) utillity that needs to be reinstalled. Installation was quite breezy. No need to spend hours installing back all the other programs etc.
