offline files settings for redirected folder

Hello all.

I have my group policies set so that all users have their my documents folder redirected to a folder on their Home drive.

The issue we are having is that some of the computers are forcing the my documents folder to by available offline. which could cause a problem with some of the users who have My Documents fodlers that are 60GB and higher that are contantly trying to sync if they sign on to a new computer.

Is it required that if the my documents folder is on a network share that it be made available offline?

those articles have great info and i see that offline files is NOT required so this is obviously a settings issue. i only redirect the my documents folder, and if the server goes down its not important if the users users have acess to their documents, i only need mobile users to have access to thier documents offline, but i do not want office users to have their home drives cached if they log onto someones mobile computer.

upon further investigation i found that any computer with offline files enabled will automaticly start cahcing the home drive of any user who logs in to it. is there anyway to make offline files be a per user basis and not computer?

i have no group policies enforicing offline files, i have group policies enforcing no limits on offline files, but there is no policy that forces offline files to be enabled.
