Have a new computer and on my old one when I hit Start and then Programs, all the programs were listed. Have XP PRO now ibut only a couple of programs show up with a down arrow that I can press to see all programs. I know this is a simple fix and it irrates me I can't remember how to do it.

i believe you cant stop that by doing this:
right click taskbar and choose properties>start menu tab>advanced tab>clear top checkmark for "open submenus when i pause on them"

Are you using the Classic Style or the standard XP style start menu? When you do the right click on the taskbar and select Properties, then the Start Menu tab, if Classic is checked, click the Customize button and in the Advanced Start Menu Options area go to the bottom and UNcheck "Use personalized menus".
