Smile XP and settings to new Hd

Hi everyone,
Is there a easy way to copy or cut all of the info from one hd to another so that the new one is the boot hd. Reason being is that I have got a Dell Dimension 4300 which has a 20g hd, I would like to put in a new hd (200gig) as the primary hd. But with most Dell computer, they just give you a recovery disk not the full vs of ms XP. Any help would be great. Thanks Jim

System:

Dell Demension 4300 computer system. Specs included Pentium 4 processor at 1.6 Ghz, 128 MB SDRAM at 133MHz, 16MB ATI Rage Ultra 4x AGP Graphics card, 20 GB Ultra ATA/100 Hard Drive (7200 RPM, 3.5 Floppy Drive, 16X/10X/40X/ CD-RW Drive, Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition, V.90/56k Telephone Modem for Windows. use acronis to clone the old drive to the new one. with acronis it will allow you to proportion everything the way you want onto the new hard drive. ie: if you have one partition, then acronis can make one partition of 200gb for your new drive.

you have to register first, then they send you an email. from there you have to copy and paste a link into your browser to complete registration which will also give you a password needed so you can login to download the software. next click manage my registered products link, look on the right side of the next page to login. from there you should see acronis 7.0 as an available download

As said above by Ob1, no problems with reg and downloading just follow the instructions and it will come together. I also made a boot disc with the application. Should I format the new hd before coping or is it done in the program?

Ok, got the hd installed in the case and booted into bios, see's both hd, save setting and exited. Windows XP booted up. When I go to my computer I only see 1 hd. I want to use Acronis 7.0 to load XP and also format. How do I get it reconized by Win XP. Thanks Jim

Just got finished with cloneing the old hd to the new one. Only took couple of min and just change jumper on the back of new one to master and restartand it is all there, ready for use. Couldn't be any simpler. Thanks for the referal to this site. I've loaded it on all of the computers to do back ups and make boot cd's. Thanks again Jim
