Windows isn't installing!! HELP!
Ok. I have made posts with different portions of my problem, but they don't give a complete layout. I am completely helpless at this moment, and will accept all help I can get. The motherboard company doesn't seem to know whats wrong, so I need help!
I have a cd of Windows XP Pro, 32 bit. I have an authentication key. I recently put my computer together, and am now installing windows. I place the cd in, boot from my cd-rom, and commence with the installation. I format my hard drive partition, the only one showing up, Partition 1. It uses NTFS file system. It installs the windows installation folders, and tells me it will resume the next part of setup after restarting the computer in 15 seconds. I let it restart. It restarts the computer, and my computer restarts. And restarts, and over again. I boot back from the cd-rom, and setup loads again, at the very first stage. It has done this on all tries I have commenced. I ran the windows recovery installation console, and did some exploring. It has 1 windows installation on the c: drive. However, there is no actions in the recovery console to help me get to the next stage, or from the windows installation setup. I called my motherboard manufacturer, Gigabyte. The man had me test my hard drive, my ram, my dvd-drive, and the motherboard. I updated the BIOS, used my Seagate tools diagnostics, and updated the drivers during installation. ALL of those did not work. I got the same lasting result. I have reformatted and reinstalled several times, all with the same results. Some times, when I use chkdsk in recovery console, it tells me there are more than one unrecoverable problems in A: , C:, and D: Other times, it tells me they are fine. I tried copying the setup.exe file from D: (windows cd) to my hard drive, and that completed successfully. I than booted my hard drive, and it told me I was missing nt4dr. So, now, I am waiting on another idea to try. I am sitting at the beginning of the windows installation, where it prompts me to enter recovery console, or commence with the installation. I just downloaded in the Intel Matrix Storage Manager driver onto a floppy, and I am probably going to try installating that with F3 as I install windows again. I will reformat my hard drive, and install. I have a feeling this might not work. PLEASE help me. |

You may need to change the boot options to boot from Hard Disk in the BIOS!?
