Windows XP question
when you run your mouse over an icon or other area you will get a little window open and describe the action. ie. when you run your mouse over your start button you will get a Little window that says "click here to begin"
Is there a way to stop this little window from coming up? If so how? Thanx

Hi TEEB
The ElderGeek site has a Registry Edit for disabling or enabling the ToolTip pop up boxes. The key they mention is HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced And the right-pane item is "ShowInfoTip". The DWORD value of 0 = disabled. The DWORD value of 1 = enabled. Here's the link to the full tip details on their site http://www.theeldergeek.com/tool_tip_displays.htm You'll want to take the usual precautions before making any Registry changes. The easiest is to create a restore point just before. Best of luck . . . Gary |
