Service Pack 2 problem

After putting off downloading windows service pack 2 I finally did it this weekend however "System Restore" doesn't work after the download of SP 2, any idea of what could have happened? Thanks.

Did you make sure it wasn't turned off? You can check it in Control Panel>System>System Restore Tab. Under that, make sure "Turn system restore off" isn't checked.

I did check it

Yes I did that's how I found out it wasn't working. After I downloaded it I checked on some of the computers functions just to see what changes might have happened and when I checked on system restore I got a message that it wasn't functioning, thanks.

Okay, try enabling it this way then. Go to Start>Control Panel>Administrative Tools, and then click on the Services icon. In the box that pops up, scroll down until you find System Restore Service, and double click that. Another box will open and right in the middle it will say Startup Type. In that box, make sure it's set to Automatic. Apply the changes and OK your way back out and see if its working again.
