ghosting 2hd dual boot(2k/xp) to single disk?
i have my pc set up to dual boot win2000 and xp. 2000 is installed on the primary hd,
xp on the secondary hd. ( a 80 and 60 gb maxtor drive) Now one of these drives is starting to act a bit weird (sounds) so i am going to replace them with a single hd(250 or 300 gb maxtor) Is it ok to use norton ghost and copy all these partitions (4 on drive 1, 2 or drive 2) to the new hd, can this cause problems (i seem to remember something about max 5 partitions on a disk? ) i mainly want to keep the 2000 and its separate programs partition on the first drive, the xp has only been recently installed, that's not too much work to reinstall and set up all the sofware/settings again. getting my 2000 as it is now will take me a lot of work. any ideas? edit : NO longer an issue, ghost failed to copy the contents, it gives an error message that it cannot find the second hd (target) . Maybe something to do with this drive being to large? I decided to give it a fresh install.
