laptop XP error code
toshiba satellite running XP Home edition, randomly blue screens with the following error message and code
IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL 0x0000000A (0xC0193854, 0x00000002, 0x804F4251) Was not doing this before system was taken to Comp USA (choke!) and had hard drive formatted with re-install. I have run all malware tests and cleaned up with ccleaner but the probrelem still exists. Any help? Thanks in advance, -Kev

How long ago did you have the techs at comp USA do the reformat?? If is was recently then I would surely take it back to them to fix it right. Did they laod SP2 and all of the correct drivers? Secondly if you check the event viewer you may get a clue as to what is causing the crashes.. Lot of times what you are seeing is caused by a faulty memory module, so it could just be coincidence that a hardware problem has cropped up..

This is a repeated problem with the Seattle comp USA. I have learned never to take anything to their repair dept. The last time this happened we ended up getting $590 back from Comp USA for a customer largely as a result of my efforts.
Needless to say, we won't be taking anything back there for repair. We have just downloaded Toshiba diagnostics for this satellite. also found a wireless network adapter that will not start. I'm suspecting some type of driver conflict or hardware failure (maybe the wireless card) at this point. We'll try memtest next. I check every system that comes through here for service pack 2 and all windows updates. -Kev Last edited by kev7555; 12-02-2006 at 07:15 PM. |

the most common cause for this blue screen is a driver conflict, probably due to the reinstall. Sometimes at the bottom of the blue screen there is text that will display the filename of the driver that is the problem.

We think this turned out to be a defective wireless card (and possibly Comp USA's attempt at loading multiple drivers in an attempt to repair what turned out to be a hardware problem).
However... the last blue screen to appear was just before we un-installed IE7. After that, the discovery of the defective wireless card was merely stumbled upon while checking in device manager for problems. -Kev |
