My Pictures won't open
This is crazy! I've been running XP Home for the last 5 years without any problems and now - all of a sudden - I'm having trouble getting "My Pictures" to open properly. When I double click on the "My Pictures" shortcut on the desktop, instead of "My Pictures" opening up with all my organized pix folders with their thumbnails - the "Search Window" opens up. "Yipes! I say". "How did that happen !! " I can still open up "My Pictures" by right-clicking on the shortcut and choosing "Open". But I'd like to get back to the way it used to be. I've tried searching thru all the "tools" and "options" and restoring defaults, but no luck. I still have that "Search" window looking at me. Any Help? Cliff

Do you regularly scan for viruses, spyware, trojans and hijackers?
Anything out of the ordinary happen recently prior to this problem?  Cricket

Thanks Cricket for your response. Yes, I have scanned for all that stuff. I'm clean. The problem is that somehow the default action for "My Pictures" shortcut and folder has been changed from OPEN, to SEARCH. You can see that when you right click on the shortcut or folder - SEARCH is at the top of the menu and highlighted. All my other folders/shortcuts have OPEN highlighted and at the top. I don't know how that happened and I've looked thru all the preferences, etc and can't find out how to change it. Cliff
