Angry Fire Password Problem

Hi
Can you help I have lost/forgot my windows xp start up password on my laptop I understand that PC Machanic is unable to help in this type of problem, my question is what is the best course of action for me to take to be able to use the laptop I would add there is no CD drive WindowsXP was on when I purchased the laptop secondhand
Your help would be appreciated

Start it up in safe mode and use the Administrator account. With any luck, nobody set a password on it and you can then change the password on your other account.
