Question CHKDSK is coming up with errors.

When I run chkdsk it does the following

C:\Documents and Settings\Bob>chkdsk
The type of the file system is NTFS.

C:\Documents and Settings\Bob>chkdsk /f
The type of the file system is NTFS.
Cannot lock current drive.

Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another
process. Would you like to schedule this volume to be
checked the next time the system restarts? (Y/N) n

C:\Documents and Settings\Bob>

Even if I ask the system to check the volume upon restart, the whole process is repeated The next time I run CHKDSK.

You need to do that. You also need to answer YES here:

Your hard drive is way too full - it's just going to continue to corrupt. You need to keep at least 15% free space on it or it won't even defrag.

I did, but afterwards, the same problem crops up. But thank you for the spacial suggestion, I will back up my hard drive and delete some files I don't use to often (I have a 320 GB external drive)

At today's prices, buy a bigger drive. 320's are under $100 now.
