REALLLLLLYYYYY important need help!

Ok, last night I had like a 2 second power outage and the computer turned off. I just leave it because it was late, and today is my b-day so I'm like w.e lol.

Turn it on this morning, and go downstairs. Come back up and it's back at the beginning of the boot up.

I get a blue screen that flashes some message so quick I can't make it out before it reboots. It's missing some kind of registry file. Is there anyway to fix this through the startup disk or something? I tried and I was having trouble figuring it out.

Unplug the power supply from the wall outlet for about 15 minutes and then try to power up.

Consider getting a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply). A UPS has a big battery in it that will power the computer for a short time after a power failure, and may even initiate an orderly shut down for you. It will also level out power to your system (important if you live in area with "brownouts" or your house lights frequently flicker) and protect your computer from surges. Your motherboard may be fried. One way to tell is to pull it out and carefully sniff it. Your nose will tell you when you've found the burned spot, and it's probably near the power supply or ethernet connection. For quick back ups, an external hard drive is very easy, and the prices have fallen recently. Best of luck to you,
Johanna
