when I turn on my computer, it comes up with 2 sets of XP, and asks me which one I would like to use. I would like to set one as the default and possibly delete the other one. They both work fine, so which one I use is not an issue.

It's been awhile but I think if you go to control panel-System-Advanced-Startup and Recovery you will see, near the top, "Default operating system". If you have two WindowsXP listings here, delete one of them.

Did you install both of these versions? Is this a Compaq or an HP machine?

go in to run then type in msconfig, when that comes up click on the boot.ini file then click on the lower line of text in the upper part of the window, and then click the button that says "check all boot paths" after that it will get rid of the one that doesnt really point to an operating system.
