Extract windows cab files ?
I have an old TP560 laptop with no CD rom and I want to load all the
W98se cab files for it, onto its hard drive, so that I can use a usb flash drive to load programs on the laptop and not need the CD everytime. I have used the 'sfc' DOS program to extract files in the past but it does not seem to be available on the other Win2000 machine I have. How can I get ALL the cab files off the 98 Cd using my desktop PC ? Thanks lots ! |

Winzip can open Microsoft .cab files.
If you just need to copy the cabs to the hard drive to allow for installs, copy all the files, but not the subfolders, from the \win9x folder on the 98 CD. |

I found this excellent reference which also includes how to
change the registry to find the files and eliminate it asking for win cd to be inserted in D drive. http://www.duxcw.com/digest/Howto/so...s/movecabs.htm |
