Which operating system should I use?
Well in a short while I will have a pc that I built (my first build). I was just wondering if someone could reccommend which window's operating system would be best for gaming purposes? I only have experience with the home edition, so if anyone can clue me into the others I would be most appreciated.

XP Home is all you will need, buy it with the Vista upgrade coupon.

I personally use windows 2000 on all my machines here. I got a couple with XP home but I personally prefer windows 2000. It is incredibly solid and lightweight. I use it on my servers and workstations. If not 2000 then I would have to say XP home. NEVER USE WINDOWS 95, 98, OR ME. They are prone to crashing. I've had my windows 2000 server running for over 200 days straight and it hasn't had a problem yet.

I prefer Win2000 myself - but XP is a much better gaming OS and there will be games coming out before long that will *require* Vista and DX10.
