Unhappy admin bypass winxp

my wife has changed the password on our laptop and forgot what the new one is.
its running windows xp and the account we log onto is the administrators account.
i have tried pressing atrl, alt +del but cannot get any screen up helping me.
i dont know of any way apart from downloading a bootdisk. is there a way around the password problem or do i have to do a disk?
the laptop i have has no floppy drive , so , can a bootdisk be put onto a cd & will the laptop accept this ?
i'm confused and need some help

If the OS is XP home and it came preinstalled then you can boot into safe mode and access the admin account with no password. But that is only if it XP home is on there and it came preinstalled.

matthews, please read forum rule 9 before saying any more. We can't assist with bypassing passwords here.

As much as we'd like to help you, we can't - but I'll give you a little hint - Google is your friend. With that, I have to close the thread, good luck.
