Angry Fire first build, windows 2k professional wont start

Hi, I just finished my first build, everything seems to work fine, everthing was new.

I put the windows 2k professional CD in my CD drive and it launches setup, formats the HD, reboots and gets to the "starting windows" screen with the large logo but when the bar at the bottom fills up the computer just stalls there and the HD stops reading.

Ive played around with it a while, somtimes when i launch windows in some type of safe mode I get the computer to go into a further setup screen and start "installing devices" but here it also stalls about halfway through filling that bar.

asus p5n - mobo
intel core2duo e6300 - proc

this problem has had me stumped 2 days, i just found the solution so ill post it here so the next person can find the answer with a forum search.

the ASUS p5XXXX series mobos and the front USB(EHCI) is not compatible with many windows versions, causing it to hang at the installing devices.......in your BIOS disable the USB keyboards and mouse and it should completely install next time.

A good principle to follow when installing any version of Windows on any computer is leave ALL USB devices disconnected, including the front port headers.
