My Computer Wont Boooot. =(!! Help.?

I came home one day to find my compaq laptop to have a grey screen. The day before it worked fine...
I tried rebooting it. But over and over all I can get to is the blue windows xp Screen.
It wont go any further.. Not even a welcome screen.
Ive tried booting it in safe mode. Multiple times..
NOTIHNG HELPS!!!
The only thing I get to is that same blue screen with a windows xp icon!
HELP.

Is my comptuer totally shot? =/
what can i do!..

Uhm. I've tried putting in the drive recovery/installation disks that came with my laptop into the cd drive and turning it on, but the same thing happens...

If thats not what I'm supposed to do, what is?
How do i Reinstall Windows....

Im computer ignorant.

You probably need to go into the BIOS and set the CD drive as first boot device. The first text screen after turn on should be the BIOS screen and at the bottom should say "to enter setup, press DEL". Or the correct key could be F8,F10.

You may not have to use the CD's - you may have a recovery partition.

i did exactly what you said & reinstalled windows. I didnt lose any of my files and it works! WEEE!
