Installing/using 'non-server' programs and games on Windows 2003
Howdy there. I own a Compaq Laptop, and it came with WinXP Home SP2. I was happy enough with it but one day I had some problems with it not booting, and aftering backing up all of my stuff (iTunes music, schoolwork, etc.), I reformatted and installed Windows Server 2003. While it's been working awesome overall, I've ran into a few snags, that I knew were there, but am now getting a bit miffed by.
The problem is that there are programs (like the free versions of both AVG and Avast!) that won't run on Server. Having to buy a (professional) copy of those programs doesn't bug me, because they rule. But I recently got LEGO Star Wars from a friend, and it won't run on Server. I've had this problem with other apps and games too, and I'm basically wondering if there are ANY ways to bypass it without having to install XP on another partition (which I really don't want to do). I've (vainly) tried compatibility mode, and that did nothing. Thanks so much ![]() -Matt "TofuMatt" Riley |

Well, I actually found something that will work provided it's just the setup program that is nay-saying a wish to install a 'non-server' program/game. It worked for LEGO Star Wars. http://www.flexbeta.net/main/comment...&shownews=8506
