XP Home Crash on a EMachine T2245

Happy New Year everyone, I just received a call from my cousin, she said when she turned on her computer she receives the message c:\windows\system32\config\system. She doesn't have a xp cd but I remember making a set of floppy start up disks for her which she found. What I want to know is it safe to use the following instructions with the floppies and is there a easier method than this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307545?

My cousins' not computer literate so I don't know if she'll be able to follow the above instructions. Any help would be appreciated.

With emachines you typically get a restore disk, if you run in will recreate the HD as it was when you first got the system. It will also wipe out any other data, so if she uses it, make sure she saves any important data.

You can use any XP SP2 (assuming she has upgraded to SP2) disk to perform a Repair Install. You just have to use the Product Key on the side of the eMachines when prompted for that during the Repair. We have a how to in the Tips and Tricks forum for the Repair Install.
