Boom Medion Laptop WinXP SP2 Problems

My Girlfriend bought a Medion Laptop (Model: MD40734) a while ago, and after a year of usage it needed a well derserved format to help speed it up again, after formating this little demon, i installed the windows using the disk provided, (winxp home Sp1a edition) and proceded to install updates.

All was fine till i installed sp2 when after restart it will make the ocmputer hang at the winxp logo screen. the screen will go a funny colour then stop altogether. safe mode is unreachable also. any thoughts? i made sure i had all drivers and chipset drivers installed previous to sp2 install and have tried it serveral times.

any thoughts?

Many Thanks,

M@

Sounds like the need of a BIOS update. Google "Medion MD40734" and you will seen a bunch of threads about problems with SP2.
