Can't boot without xp disk
We recently moved to our first house. When I unpacked and turned on my computer, I saw a message saying "Boot Disk Error - insert system disk"
I inserted the disk, re-booted the computer, and after a brief message saying "press any key to boot from CD", windows loaded like normal. After a few tries with and without the disk, I have come to the conclusion that the disk must me in the drive for the system to boot. Just a wild guess (and I don't fully understand what I am saying when I say it) Are my boot files corrupted? How do I go about fixing this so that I don't need the system CD to boot my computer? Thanks for your help! |

Problem is seemingly solved - false alarm so to speak. Somehow my boot disk priority got out of wack. The system was trying to boot to my data hard drive instead of the operating system hard drive.
