Exchange server
Hi -
Im not sure if im in the right place to be asking this or if anyone here can answer this at all... We are working on an Exchange server - 2007. As far as we know it's setup properly (obviously there's something wrong somewhere - or i wouldn't be writing this) We have a barracuda spam filter inside our firewall. Firewall is opened up to allow mail traffic to the spam filter - spam filter is set to forward to the mail server. We've verified this in the firewall logs and tested the configuration on the spam filter. Here's where it gets fishy... If i send an email to someone from an external email account ( me@hotmail.com) it comes through just fine and is delivered without any problems. BUT... when we send to each other inside the network (ie me@toprx.net to you@toprx.net), there is no trace of the sent messages. Internally mail is not going through the spam filter - only incoming mail from the WAN goes through the spam filter. Clients are configured to connect to the mail server and they connect successfully during setup. Does anything about this sound familiar - I'm really hoping someone has experienced this and that it's something SIMPLE that I'm overlooking. Thanks J5 |

Is this a new installation or an upgrade from Exchange 2003, ie did it work prior to the upgrade? Just curious if the emails actually leave the outbox and can internal users send email out externally? I work in the same city so if you need additional help PM me.

You need to send some emails out to various accounts like Hotmail and Gmail to see if you get them. I would also look in the server logs to see if you can determine the problem.
