Question on Importing/Exporting Bookmarks between Two PCs

I'm wondering if I export/import bookmarks from my desktop to my laptop, and vice versa, if the different favorites I have on the two PCs will be deleted and both will be the same.

What I mean is: If the bookmarks on my desktop has a web site that's not in the bookmarks on my laptop and I import the favorites from my lappy to my desktop, will that web site be gone from my desktop? Or will the desktop keep ALL the favorites PLUS the additional favorites from the laptop?

Thx in advance and I hope my question doesn't sound too confusing.
