98SE to Win2000

I cloned Win2000 PE from the original 10G HD in a Dell to a 40 G HD that I'd been running 98SE on in an Acer for years. I took the 40G HD & used it as the the C drive in the Dell withuot any operational issues except that , though setup sees it as 40G, when booted up only 10G is seen. The first question is ,can I fix this & make the computer recognize it as a full 40G?
The second problem is with the Acer. I put the 10 G HD from the Dell into the Acer. It will try to boot & makes it as far as the windows screen then I get a blue screen with 2 paragraphs the first stating "Stop: 0x000000A5 (0x00000002, 0x81AB6948,0x81A3D588,0x00000002)
The ACPI BIOS in this system is not fully compliant with the ACPI specifications..." & goes on to recommend upgrading the bios. How do I find out what to upgade it to to make this work? I found a site on the net that said to boot with the 98 boot disk & sys C: but it's not working.

You probably cloned the drive without adjusting the partitions - does Disk Management show close to 30gb unallocated space to the right of a 10gb partition? If so, you need Partition Magic or a wipe and reinstall (or reclone it correctly).

You probably need to do a Win2000 repair reinstall on the Acer. When you get the F6 prompt to install 3rd party drivers, press F7 instead - this should let you install Windows as APM instead of ACPI. You need the repair install anyway - the different IDE controllers will cause more bluescreens.
