Customizing Folders
Hello,
I ran into a strange occurance today and was wondering whether anyone else has had this happen or had suggestions.
I have a second hard drive for my video editing on my XP sp2 system. I have a folder for my videos, in which I create a subfolder for each tape I capture to the hard drive. I wanted to set the video folder for the video template. I checked the box which says, "Also apply this template to all subfolders." My thought being that future folders created in the main video folder would all have the video template.
This is where I ran into a problem. The intended folder did change to the video template, but weird things started happening to some of the other folders. For instance, the My computer window changed to thumbnails...folders on the other hard drive changed to the video template. I cleared things up, hit the restore folders to default button and tried again. This time the My Programs folder changed to a photo template, and I couldn't change it back (customize isn't available in this folder)...I had to hit the restore button again.
Obviously I'm not going to check the apply to all subfolders again, but is this how its suppose to work? Is something messed up in my registry or is this a bug?
Thanks for your thoughts.
