Sychronization Manager in W2K

A few years ago we built a computer for a neighbor and installed all the software and critical updates, etc, at our house on our network. When we delivered the computer, we got the "Sychronization Manager" error at shutdown as it was trying to find our network on shut down. Back then, we figured out how to turn it off so the error doesn't come back on shut down.

A few weeks ago, I installed Verizon DSL for the same neighbor with the Verizon CD and all their bloatware, and suddenly, the "Sychronization Manager" error is appearing at shutdown. I can't remember how to get rid of it.

This W2K machine is running Code Starter (to give msconfig flexability in W2K) and Synchronization Manager appears and was checked. So I un-checked it so it wouldn't load on start up but I still get the message. Any ideas?
