Why not get something that's free and MUCH better than Sound Recorder?

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

That is a nice free program. I have a cool edit pro myself but cannot get it to record. Also the windows recorder will not record. I thought the two recorders were related in that problem, but when I downloaded the Audacity it worked fine. I'm really puzzled. Any help would be nice. Thanks

If you have the mic selected as the input device but do not have a mic it will begreyed out. Audacity ion the other hand will record from any number of sources. They may have been your problem. Either way it's working. Enjoy it, it's a great free program.
