XP start up trouble

Hi, everytime i try to start up windows xp it goes to the screen with safe mode last known configaration etc. It wont start up in any options i try. I triued the windows XP boot disc but no luck. Any help out there.

Have you made any recent changes to your system (hardware or software)? Have you tried restoring to a last good date?

Or after you've booted to safemode go to START > RUN > msconfig > BOOT.INI tab > uncheck the /safeboot option.

i made no recent changes. I cant start up in any mode. each time the options screen comes up. If u pick any mode it will just return to the option screen again

If you have SP2, the options screen should have an option to disable restart on error - choose that and tell us what the resulting bluescreen says. If you don't have SP2 - and that option - you probably have to do a Windows repair reinstall, procedures are in our Tips and Tricks forum.
