Application error

Sometimes when using my pc, I get this message:

The application failed to initiate properly (0xc0000142). Click on OK to terminate the application.

What is this? How to correct it? I notice that all apps I try to open after I get this message are all showing this error.

Is there a "continue" button? If so, it should list the faulting application. THat info would be helpfull...

Guessing that a reboot helps clear everything up?
