System Crash

I wasn't sure exactly where to post this, I apologize if this is the wrong forum.

My co-worker has a custom built machine, Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe mobo, AMD X2 Cpu (not exactly sure of the clock speed), 2 GB's of RAM (not sure of the brand), Nvidia 7800GTX, (2) 250GB drives, not RAID'ed (Not sure of the brand either). As well as a 550W PSU. He doesn't remember all of the specs.

I have yet to see this machine, I will be diagnosing this machine over the weekend.

He stated after a day or so of leaving the machine on the screen goes to a blank green or blue screen and an upside down exclamation point is on the left hand side of the screen.

I have never seen a machine crash to this nature, nor could I find any info on the subject.

Any ideas to what the cause of this issue may be?

Much thanks!

Not very much info...Does pressing the space bar or moving the mouse wake it up?

Almost sounds like a virus or some other sort of malware has gotten to the computer.

No the system requires a reset to restore functionality, then after a day or so the problem once again arises.

I'm more interested to see if anyone has see this type of failure before. An upside down exclamation point with only a blue or green screen seems very odd.

I will have the machine in my possesion this weekend to perform a full diagnostic.

Thanks for the reply!
