Thumbs up dang blue screen

hello first time here. Went to bot my computer and it wont load windows. this appears " A problem has beeen detected and windows has shut down to prevent further damage to your computer". Say to diable all anti virus, defage back up utilitys and check for disk corruption. These codes show up **STOP: 00000024(0x00190203,0x82BIFS18,0xc0000102,0x00000000). WHAT happened computer was running fine and we basically use it as a web surfer, Any help would be appreciated.

Could very well be a failing hdd causing an NTFS system corruption. I'd suggest pulling the hdd and slaving it to another system running XP or 2000. Save all your vital files just in case the hdd is failing. Then run the hdd manufacturer's diagnostic utility from their website. If the drive tests without errors, follow the suggestions in the following:

Page down to the Stop: 24 explanation on this link. The MS link I provided is shown there for 2K and XP. Still follow my original test suggestions and file saving to be safe.
