Is it possible to restore the "My Pictures" folder somehow? It's long-gone, so even if SR was a possibility it wouldn't work. It's still in my Start menu, but the original refers to a drive that's no longer there... Properties won't let you change it's target. Dunno... Ideas?

I've read you can use Tweak UI to do it, but this sounded easier to me, because you just edit the registry to make the shell folders point to their default locations again. Doesn't sound too hard.

Thx guys. I had read that Kellys-Korner bit last nite, but I guess I had already read too much of my homework stuff for my brain to really process it.
So let me ask this: If the folder itself is no longer present (tho the shortcut on Start Menu is), do I edit the Key first and then right-click drag the folder outta Start Menu and select 'Move Here' to the desired drive? Or will editing the Key actually create the folder in its new spot? Or do I manually create the new folder where I want it to be, and then edit the Key? |

First of all, thx guys, as both links were very helpful. Here's what I did:
In order to get My Pictures to show up in the Start Menu alongside My Documents, My Computer, etc. - I created a folder named My Pictures within My Documents (thanks PR) and voila! It's now listed in Start Menu in proper position. However, the folder did not have the Customize option under Properties. I made a new My Pictures folder elsewhere, and it did have that option. I was able to set up the folder as I wanted, and then I dropped it into My Documents to overwrite the other. Cool. Then, to move My Pictures to the desired location on a different drive and outside of My Documents, I just used Right Click to drag it to the new locale, and then selected Move Here. |

One thing I was wondering about both of these fixes.....does the new My Pictures folder have all the special features that the original one did? I mean the stuff at the left side like "View Slideshow" and "Order Prints Online"......are those things there or did it just make it a "regular" folder?
